I suffer from a neurological condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. It causes severe neuropathy, muscle atrophy, muscle spasms, and bone deformities. I was on a laundry list of pharmaceutical opiates for a long time and suffered a cardiac arrest because of them four years ago,
My greatest fear is suffering another cardiac arrest and not surviving. Continuing to be forced to live with the constant threat of another one is very inhumane.
Things need to change so myself and fellow Iowans can have safer, more effective treatment options available to them."
